Ok Frazier, sorry Im usually on Ozfalcon now.
Rightio.....
Front ends on Falcons are same as 68-74 mustangs.
Globalwest upper and lower tubular arms... coilovers and a castor kit and a lockout kit will make the falcon handle well.
I run a roller spring saddles but not needed with coilovers.
Mount different.

Theres a few companies in Oz mate but they just reselling seppo kits for mustangs...

Order direct from Globalwest or thru Jegs.
You could go a whole front clip but the money it costs.... just brace up the front. The only prob with the original falcon front is the castor a nd camber... which those arms correct.
Have fun!
Just remember.... add 30% to cost of parts and postage for exchange rate.

All XF front suspension the 68-74 Mustang parts will bolt straight in.

Jack.

#783877 XF front suspension options

Posted by Outback Jack on 05 June 2018 - 07:22 PM

Lol. Those McDonald Bros set ups are globalwest upper and lower tubular arms and a set of viking coilovers.
Globalwest do them direct from the states and as a package with your choice of Koni Bilstein or Drag strip shocks..... viking is also an option.

Guarentee those arms have moog screw in ball joints....... ask me how I know...... hehehe

On an x series you need to brace the strut tower if you want to shock from lower arm straight thru.... weren't designed to take it and will flex and crack.

#783360 Outback Jack's 96 XG Falcon 'Outback' Ute rebuild..Big Red!

Posted by Outback Jack on 02 July 2017 - 10:22 PM

Its ok mate but its easy to have the answers after the fact.

Before this XG I have never touched an efi or ecu run car... All carbs and Dizzys.
So was a steep learning curve.

Lol. We are the same age too.
Glad ya kept the XG.

Oh, theres a brass bush kit for XG's allows you to use an AU upper control arm....
Better turn as in XH and more adjustability.

And sorry mate but ya posts are rather long.... probably comes off as rant.

Ford On.

Jack.

#782643 XF auto holding 1st gear when cold

Posted by Outback Jack on 11 December 2016 - 07:30 AM

Look at your automatics dipstick. I bet ya fluid is low because the cooler holds quite a bit of fluid.
Slowly add trans fluid until it is at full mark.
Might even need to drive it around the block between fills to work air out of cooler.

I see ya using motor and box from ute to power an XF.
So ya need the ecu etc.
Don't worry too much about other parts.

Just let ya know too.
If that Outback ute ya grabbed for motor etc is a 1996 model in Le Mans red, it is one of two that came off the factory floor.
I own the other one.
Thats why I say its a shame to see it used for parts.

Still interested in intake mate if thats the way ya going and have mate who would like the tail lights too please.

Legend, yeah that whole bit from throttle body to the scoop including the bracket would be awesome mate. Cheers.

Are you scrapping it?
If so there maybe other parts I would be interested in grabbing.
Slide ya some coin for ya troubles. =)
Pity ya not in WA... could grab whole ute...
I have a red one too.

My intake got damaged so been looking for a replacement.

Just let me know how much for postage and I'll chuck some extra on top for being a good bloke =)

Thanks.
Jack.

JCA is probably on the money.
Also check behind the kick panel in the passenger side and just check the ecu hasn't had water get on it if it was parked in rain.

If it is smartlock get a j3 chip with smartlock bypass fron galapogas.
He is a member here or on ozfalcon.com.au.
Fit that and never worry about it again.

Jack.
