Gday again,

So Ive had the issue of water getting through into the floor for sometime...surely it must be rust in the plenum!

But ive just had the thought that maybe its just water getting in between the window and the metal trim (?) as there is room. Im guessing this will follow on through to the interior floor? Or could it just be that theres still rust holes in the chamber and the water has access via this gap?

Why is there a gap there? Do i need to get some sort of rubber seal for it? I cant find any specific seals for front windows or windscreens though?

Cheers fellas

Hey Bob.
My XF Ute is the same, but the gap has a few leaves and a bit of dirt in there now.
Let me know what you find out, I’ve got to fix mine too.

Cheers Rodrigo,

Are you saying youve got the same issue of the leak?

Im not sure what kind of rubber or seal to buy yet...not really had much time (as usual).

I had planned on taking the whole front part of the body under and next to the wiper grill off to inspect rust holes and see where the water could actually be getting in but it seems to inspect that you must come from inside the car and remove all the dash gear. Thatll be a big job and have had time yet...

Yep same issue.
Got my 5 year old to tip a bucket of water on the windscreen. I was sitting inside Ute at the time, and wondered how the water got in.
Either the seal is missing to some wether strip has completely buckled and needs replacing. Posted Image

Yep, might try to have a go tomorrow...

I wonder what rubber you could get for it and where?

Hey Bob.
Was doing a little light reading, and I suspect my seal is no longer present. Have a look at item 6 in view B.

Here are some diagrams, Posted ImagePosted Image

Yeah, looks like missing that rubber would allow water to pass through...
