So I’ve acquired another ford xd 351,
Looking at changing it from the 4 speed singlerail to an c10 auto looking for recomendations for a place to get it rebuilt stage 2/3 to handle 450-500hp approx
Have already had a few quotes between $2500-$3800

Motor is stock atm with a 600 holley some unknown extractors and a mild cam/tow cam unknown.

I wanted to have a crack at doing a few things to the motor currently rebuilding a 750 vac secondaries holley. Looking for a Edelbrock performer manifold/or rpm airgap
Cam choice not sure
Maybe a light port Job on the 351 heads or get some 302 c/c
What have people done in order to tell if the motor is good to go ahead and do a bit of work. I’m thinking a compression test to start off
