So the old man has a 83 xe with a warm 351 clevo which returns 26L/100km. Now my 83 xe with a slightly warmer 351 clevo on lpg returns 24L/100km.

These figures are based on mainly around town driving and very little Freeway.

Just wondering what mileage other people are getting from their 351 clevos.

Dad's is running a 750 edelbrock and mine is a twin throttle body gas research system

Might also be worth mentioning gearbox used and diff ratio you are running.

I will be interested to see what people are getting as I am currently planning what to do engine wise in my XE.

thats a bad diff gear ... I would move to a 3.45 or 3.27 diff with a T5 and watch the fuel usage go down

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Hi guys,

I don't come in here often, but when I saw this thread, I thought I may be able to contribute....

My Cleveland is and has been for many years, returned around 12l/100km on the freeway, or 22-23 mpg in old money.  Around town it gets a little thirstier at around 15l/100km (18.5 mpg)

I run a 351C in and XA Coupe, with a 4sp Top Loader and a 3.0:1 9" diff.

I built my engine for the results I have achieved and I'm very happy with the grunt it has down low....

Cheers
