Hi guys , I have been a bit crook lately and have had to specialists and one of them is in Queenstown ,Tasmania . So I filmed the drive because the roads down here on the westcoast of Tassie are some of the best driving roads around . The van is my dream van project and thats how i'd like it to be . So I don't know if this is where I should post up my you tube link , so someone tell me if there is somewhere else I should post it up , enjoy this video and checkout some of my other Rokon and Pano-vision videos . Cheers Mick .

22 Minutes for a 50+km drive isn't too bad.

Looks to me like most of the time he was doing the speed limit.

I grew up on these roads, used to travel from Zeehan to Rosebery and back everyday for school. you can see the turn off to Zeehan at about 9 minutes 30 seconds.

Great video btw :)

I have been sitting house bound for months , and started putting some of my Rokon adventures photos to a bit of music and posting them up on you tube . And then I remember that my Canon S5 digital camera had a video function . So it worked well in the car with it mounted on a tripod just under the mirror , its only 10 megapixels but does a reasonable job of stills . As Poison XF says its about 54 kms and it was raining in places , on some of the straights you could say I wasn't obeying the speed limit , but mostly between 80- 120 . The film is condensed slightly to fit the music and titles giving it an undercranked appearence ( faster ) . There is bit missing when I had an off and had to wait a bit for the traffic to be right again . At the Zeehan turn off you can see I have locked the fronts and it was going straight ahead untill the abs kicked in ( or just got some traction back ) and then the back came around pretty quick , from then on the adrenalin was pumping and I may have got a bit of airtime a little bit up the road .

Hey Poison I moved here ( Rosebery ) about 10 years ago , from Brisbane . And the roads down here scared me at first , with all the rain and ice , ect . No wonder some good drivers come from Tassie . My mate has Xd ute with LTD front and a worked 351 , put it into Dollingers Garage in Queenie , had a dispute with him on his prices and had a pretty fast drive back , because Shane was fumming . I know I was sh#tting myself . He also has an AU XR 8 manual ( its pretty cool because he built the suspension for the tickford cars when jt was made , so he made some of his own car when it was brand new ) . Anyway he seen my videos and wants me to film him doing that trip and out of Queenie out to Linda . It might be a fun video . He drives the school bus along the Zeehan road everyday so knows the road like the back of his hand

Polson mate, with a 'L'.
Bet Rosebery would've been quite different from Brisbane! I still remember the road between Zeehan and Rosebery pretty well, and I know I wouldn't like to attempt to drive it with ice, thats for sure.
I've had a few scary moments on the West Coast roads as a passenger, I remember a time my Dad was running really really late, and going well over 140k in a stock as a rock TF Cortina wagon on the Bulgabac, if you know where that is.
Another time my Mum had a front brake failure in her 60 series Land Cruiser whilst going down the hill into Queenstown (where you're following the bus).
A video out of Queenie to Linda would be pretty cool, certainly show off the hills and that hill in and out of Queenie...
I took one on my way into Queenstown earlier this year, pretty crap video, taken with a phone, would love to see one of decent quality.

Your not wrong , it was a big difference from Brissy to down here . I still haven't hit any " black ice " yet and don't want to . Have to drive my old male dog for an operation this morning up to Wynyard and I always look for ice at the high point and the Bulgobac . We have to leave at 7 o clock am so will still be slippery . Cheers Mick .
