After being a member for nearly 2 years, i thought i would finally put some photos into a forum to show wot i have done to it since i got her on the road in '08.

Its an '87 XF Fairmont Ghia stationwagon, built in September. White with grey interior. the car has been in the family since 1992, when my dad bought the car for a family and tow car (rather than he magna work car) to tow the boat with. it only got used to tow 3 times before dad got a V8 falcon for a work car. thats when this car was used untill '06 to carry my brother and myself around in.
In 2006 the car was hit on the passenger side at the front, while it was parked, taking basically from the in front of the front wheels all off. surprisingly the insurance company decided not to right it off. we got it repaired, and mum bought a new car, so the wagon was then put under a car cover and tarp till june of 2008 :)

being my first car i couldnt afford the fuel so i put her on LPG...i kinda wish i hadnt now, but i love how cheap it is to fill :)

This is the day i picked it up from being put on gas. still at stock ride height and all.

the day after putting it on gas, it blew the head gasket. this is when i found this site lol
cos dad and i were unexperienced mechanics LOL it took us a good 2 months (only working on w/e's) to completely remove the motor and driveline and rebuild motor, and service transmission.

i remember when i took the car back to the mechanics for its 1000km service, they asked why it took so long to travel 1000kms. he just laughed when i told him wot we had done

this is the day i bought and fitted 2nd had Pedders Sportsryder Low coils for the front

as mentioned earlier, dad and i were unexperienced mechanics, and for some reason thought we could get away with not machining the alloy when the head gasket went :( 10 000kms later dead on, the head gasket went again

nice newly machined head

at the end of the summer holidays this year, the auto tranny shat itself. i looked at prices and repairing it, and decided it cost just a touch more to drop a T5 in...so its now 5 spd with a 2.77 diff. yer its a little slow off the line, but great fuel economy, and its got legs :)

I've always loved X series wagons, but the ass end lets me down. the back hatch just looks old and to basic in my opinion.
away until jan 16th

i love the lines of the wagon, purely because they arent straight up at the back like the later Falcon wagons, and a lot of commonwhore wagons. instead they have a nice slanted line to them :)

Man that thing looks sweeet mate!

Of all the XFalc's I've owned I reckon the XF wagon was my firm fave... back end of em looks tough and the XF front end really sets that shit off, especially when they're lowered. :)

Looks sweet in white witth the Ghia moulds.

This is making me more and more wanna get hold of another XF wagon... time to start searchin I think!

cool tHank you my H button isnt workin eitHer is my g button so ive copied and pasted to get it on Here lol

- ZK Fairlane... low n slow -

- XE Ghia... manual, and LOOOW -

- XF S-Pack... T5 manual, budget tracky? -

- XD GL wagon... meh. -

thanks mate. im completely in love with it. ive been reallly lucky to inherit it, otherwise i would probably be driving some little shitbox lol.
i know wot u mean about the back of them, they are one of the toughest looking wagons around from the back. and i love how the back isnt straight up and down, they have a nice foward angle to them :)
