So the ute has been going pretty well despite first thoughts... no hiccups except for a new battery. On Friday I put my other half's Excel in to get the brakes replaced, borrowed the Father-In-Law's old wagon and gave him the XG to get to work and back... problem is, he never got to work.

He made it a few blocks away and heard a clunking noise, pulled over and check the tires... all seems good. Started driving again, and the same noise... checked once more and couldn't put his finger on it. So when it happened again as soon as he took off he pulled up under the nearest street light to shed some light on the situation (around 8pm at night).

He found the back left wheel hanging on but 1 wheel nut, and that was only just holding on itself. Luckily, it was right out front of a mates place and he was a copper, so the car stayed there until i'd finished dinner and was able to go and fix it. While putting the spare on because we no longer had enough mag nuts to put on the same wheel, he checked the all the wheel nuts on all the wheels. The other back wheel wanted at least 3 turns of each nut before it got tension.

Seems to me like someone has had a go at grabbing the wheels, seriously, what are the chances of both back wheels nuts all coming off at the same time?

So i'm on the hunt for mag nuts to suit the wheel and I have to order them in cause nobody stocks them in town. *sigh*
