Comments bw trans?

Any comments on Borg Warner trans off an xd? Always felt like it was the weak point. Do i get it recond or look into something else? What would be a stronger replacement?

C4 is much better, but will require a different converter, flexplate, dipstick and tube, and also cooler lines and shifter may also be different, or on the other side of box, not 100% sure about the last two.

the flexplates are hard to find, I couldnt find a second hand one, so had to buy new.

depends on how much power you are making, or how much you plan to make, more than 250hp and id go the C series

i killed 2 XF diffs (one lsd and one open) before my BW died. i know have a rebuilt one with a higher stall with an EL 3.23 diff and i think its a great combo as long as you arnt chasing huge power

my work hacck also xd has a mild 250 with a bw 40 with a 2500 stall i dont give it constant abuse as the rest of the box is standard but havent had one problem with it and will still turn 2.77 diff rear end at the drop of the throttle if need be but hey its a work hack

if its a bw35 they are pretty s'house :) a bw40 or EA bw51 would be a decent upgrade, but so would a c4

yeah BW are fine when they are working but NEVER spend any money on them

yeah i agree, i got my rebuilt one at a steal of a price but if i had to spend proper dollars on it i would just upgrade to a c9

c4/9 hands down, dont look at any other options ;)
