Hey Xfalcon members,
I havent posted here for quite a while.
As some people might have known i have been very busy over the last 4 or so months, i wanted to convert my falcon from carby to EFI.
So i laid hands on a EFI motor out of a donor fairlane from the same year as my falcon '87'
spend $2,200 on getting someone to rebuild it for me.
They did the following things:
Cleaned it up,
bore & hone,
deck block,
grind crack shaft,
reco cyclinder head to suit gas,
fit pistons to rods,
fit cam bearings,
final wash & assembly.
And used the following parts:
1 full gasket set,
new oil pump,
.040 psitons & rings,
.010 B/E Bearings,
.010 main bearings,
new timing chain & gearset,
Set of liffters,
Crow valve springs,
Crow Camshaft
& welsh plugs.
While they had the motor i striped all the wiring from the engine bay, sanded it all back and painted it back up.
After this i fitted the wiring looms out of our donor car.
Also fitted the dash out of the fairlane.
Droped the motor back in and pluged in all up.
found out the fuel pump didnt work, fixed that problem by priming it up with the battery.
At this stage the motor could turn over but not fire, we narrowed it down to the Dizzy so i replaced it.
After this the Engine sparked and had fuel at the Fuel rail (I pulled the Return line of the fuel rail and fuel pissed out)
But it still wasent starting, so we sprayed some fuel in the Throttle body and it ran for a small amount of time, but keeped dying.
I know that the injectors are pulsing because i put a test light on it.
Now i started try to find out why it wasnt starting, to do this is swaped bits pices with my dads efi zl.
i swaped the following items:
Computer (didnt work because dads zl is leaded)
TPS (worked)
AFM (worked)
Coil (Worked)
fuel persure regulator (worked)
I pulled the spark plugs out and they are bone dry.
Heres the headscratcher- Why isnt any fuel getting into the motor, the injectors and pulsing the fuel rail is full?
Any help would be much appresated
Thanks HOLDENKILLA,
