What would be a likely price for a spray job on my engine bay? Should I do it myself or should I truck it off to the panel beaters? I want a nice smooth job that looks good but I also need it done in a very short time.

Thanks

i reckon just fixing all the holes in an x series engine bay would take weeks on its own lol

but hi man, you pay for what you get. if you want an good job get someone who knows how to do it, right first time. and do your homework on them before you take your car to them.

For a quick scuff and paint with no holes filled or any smoothing out done you'd be looking at about $500 Ged (thats with a bare engine bay)
If you start welding and wanting it smooth like Georges or TuffZJ you would be looking at $1300 depending on how far you want to go. If you want to go over that you start getting charged by the hour.

Shane and I did a rough calculation on the hours we spent in his engine bay. At $35 an hour it would have cost just over $14,000 (tallied hours for both of us). By the time we were finished there was not a ripple or hole to be seen anywhere.

And that was before this current rebuild, god knows how many hours have been spent in there again.

my panel beater took about 3 months to do my bay, and all i wanted was the holes filled and make it shiney with the new paint
