I've got a B&M short shifter on my T5, cost around 300 bucks from american autos. i think it was made for a left hand car though, i had to put it in back to front because of the position it sat in for neutral. in neutral it looked like it was in reverse, so now in neutral it looks like its in 1st.

if i was you i'd look at gettin one through herrod motorsport in australia, probly alot cheaper too

the gears are defininately shorter, if thats wat your looking for, but for the price, i dont think its worth it, you should just cut down your original shifter, gears wont be any shorter but it wont feel like your shifting as far

what about a rip shifter, this is what will going on mine. No more 'H' pattern and missing from 2nd to 3rd, just straight across. Springs configuration do all that for you

this one

Billet Alloy
Unique spring action makes 2nd & 3rd shifts ultra fast
Positive stops to prevent synchro breakage
New solid mounted Alloy gear stick, eliminates that mushy feeling
Eliminates noisy vibrations at low RPM

Supply only $499.00ea + P&H
Supplied & Fitted $649.00ea

pretty pricy
is it worth it and how hard would it be to install

Thats the one dude. Yeh pricey, but i have driven with one before and wouldn't drive without one now. (in a car that deserves it that is)
Not to hard to install, but in saying that i havent actually done one my self but assisted in a fit before. But really, looking at those prices you got, fitted is only an extra $150.00 bucks so it sorta says not to much involved (imo)
Whereabouts are from mate.
