sumtimes when i have the air-con an cd player on an im at the traffic lights the car stops does any one no y ? ford told me ders nothing rong with the car

sounds like your alt might be havin a hard time? how many amps is it rated at and how old is it? do ur lights dim at night if u crank the tunes?

nah i dont have a big bass system bu the volts goes down when i have the air-con an cd player on

it sounds like it could be your alternator. if you have a multimeter available
just check voltage at the battery while the cars running. should be about 13.50v-14v.

youd also be very suprised at how much current the ventilation fan draws at full pelt, a fair wack! if your alt is struggling you will have issues.
in saying that though, the obvious problem is your idle speed isnt high enough and the load of the aircon compressor is stalling the engine, it may idle sometimes, but not others, i.e the aircons on and you turn the steering wheel at idle

Ha, good topic, cause when it rains and i have the air con on, the wipers and music going the same thing happens, alternator well well.

my car has stopped at the lights before. i had the blower fan, wipers, rear demister, radio, headlights, blinker and brake lights all running.
i might also add that my feet were wet from the water leak. my seat was wet from leaving the window down in the rain.
i might also add that it didn't start back up with out some throttle and when the hand brake doesn't work and your facing up hill and its a manual that can be tricky.
for some reason i like driving it... it doesn't make sense does it :)

Forgot to mention that,s in the s pack the SVO had its alternator changed a few years ago for different issues so i dint link the two together.
