I read when this was having problems, that this is the temporary forums, is this still the case, or is this going to be the forums for good, to start again, as database corruption problems was what i r ead was wrong with the old forum, is this correct?

yeah mate, we've had to start again. the only other major change in the future will be the new software, we will be upgrading to VB soonish

This might be a stoopid question, but why upgrade to VB, does it offer features this current software doesn't?

yeah, VB has a heap more options and features, and also has a lot more security features

Whilst certain featuers may be lost, they certainly aren't necessary. VB is also much easier to work with.

features arent everything.. you can download almost any approved 'mod' for vB now anyway. and what isnt available, will certainly be developed in house :D

the problem with a rollback plan is you give yourself 8 hours. you get to the 4 hour mark. its still not working. you say to your self 5 more minutes before i roll back its nearly working. then you look back at the clock 3 hours later and youve got an hour to do the 3 hours roll back plan.

so VB can convert this forum ok, won't lose any posts along the way? btw this forum has some issues u may want to look at, I can lock/unlock threads (at leasts ones I started) I can also delete them, this should not be allowed, only a mod can do this.

we lost all the data from the original host, hence the new forum/fresh beginning.

with the new start will come a whole load of changes! be prepared for them.
